How to get started on bringing a boat back to its former glory (Boat Refit Documentary - Part 2

They say the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. This "one-step-at-a-time" philosophy definitely rings true for anyone working on a boat refit. As if we didn't know already, documenting our yacht restoration journey and watching the footage back, has reinforced what a massive (and daunting) job boat refitting can be. But only if you let that be the case. Breaking the big picture down into smaller sections of the puzzle is a great way to maintain focus and enthusiasm - or at least this is working for us! Our boat refit documentary series is split into some of those sections. Part 1 was about the demolition phase, where we ripped out delaminated veneers, stripped back and restored solid timbers, and started on the seemingly never-ending journey to chase down those interminable leaks!! Welcome to Part 2, where we start the rebuild. In this Vlog, anyone crazy enough to be contemplating the same things, can hopefully take some tips from our experiences in: 🎨 Working with varnish 💦 Fixing deck leaks 🪵 Working with veneers and teak trims (including how to make and install plugs) 🪚 How to make patterns And a bunch of other tips and tricks! We hope you enjoy, and Happy DIY! 💙 @shazatsea
