We Found An Abandoned British Town Left Completely Frozen In Time!..
In this weeks video we explore an entire community completely abandoned and left frozen in time. In 1952, work began on the British Forces Maintenance Area West of the Rhine. Part of the project included the construction of a joint British Army and Royal Air Force headquarters for the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) in Europe. By the early 1970s the facilities in the complex included a NAAFI superstore, German shops, a petrol station, a travel agent, two German banks, two post offices, dress shop, libraries and cafes. There were also separate full British Army (RAMC) and RAF Medical & Dental Centres and five British primary schools! The site was so much bigger than we thought so were so totally unprepared on this trip, we have planed a revisit to explore the rest of the site & surrounding locations including the main Hospital, school’s & everything els!
