A short drive from Quebec City, Canada, is Saguenay-Lac-St. Jean, a beautiful region in the Quebec Province that offers majestic views and fun for the whole family. Colleen Kelly and her children start by getting up close and personal with whales, by taking a boat tour of the magical area where the St Lawrence River and the Saguenay Fjord meet. After visiting the Fjord, the whales’ “playground,” Colleen and the girls go to the Fjord Museum to literally dig in and learn more about the environment. They also go on their first hands-on sailing adventure and soar through the trees on a daring ropes course at Cap Jaseux. The vacation continues with a step back in time at the Historic Village de Val-Jalbert, where presenters in period costumes explain what life was like in the area during the 1920’s. A behind-the-scenes experience at the Zoo Sauvage de Saint-Felicien allows Colleen and the children to be zookeepers for the day, which includes weighing a camel and preparing food for the animals.
