Kawana Praises Zambia Daily Mail's Strategic Diversification

By Justine Akakulubelwa Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, has praised the Zambia Daily Mail for its commitment to strategic diversification and improved service delivery. Speaking at the launch of the Express Daily Mail Bus and Young Mail, Mr. Kawana said the bus service will strengthen newspaper distribution, improve logistics operations and create jobs along the Lusaka-Solwezi corridor. He said the Young Mail platform, on the other hand, is expected to promote credible information, youth innovation and combating misinformation among young people. Mr. Kawana said the government expects Young Mail to become a trusted platform for truth, integrity and opportunity especially as the country heads towards the general election period. Speaking at the same event, the Industrial Development Corporation - IDC Head of Portfolio Manufacturing and Agriculture, Sombo Kaweza, said Zambia Daily Mail's investment in digital platforms and transport services demonstrates that state-owned enterprises can modernize, innovate and remain competitive in the digital age. And Zambia Daily Mail Board Chairperson, Belly Dubeka, said the innovation by Zambia Daily Management will create additional revenue streams. Meanwhile, Acting Zambia Daily Mail Managing Director, Emelda Musonda, said the institution is determined to remain afloat by taking advantage of the growing transport sector and digital platforms.
