In this week's #OpiniãoNaCultura, hosted by Rita Lisauskas, the debate revolves around the new version of High School, approved by President Lula in August of this year, and what has actually been planned for students in this stage of basic education. With the arrival of 2025, parents and guardians of young people who will enter High School next year are asking themselves: after so many changes, what has the 'New High School' been like? And what about the Enem? Will there also be changes to it? To clarify these questions, we welcome educator Maria Helena Guimarães de Castro, vice-president of the State Education Council of SP and professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP, and economist Gabriel Corrêa, director of public policies at Todos Pela Educação. We will also have the remote participation of Unifesp professor and coordinator of the GEPUD (Public School and Democracy Group) project, Márcia Jacomini. She will share insights from her study "Curricular Changes and Improvement of Public Education", funded by Fapesp, which aims to monitor and propose a critical implementation of the New High School in public schools in São Paulo.
