'By his Incarnation, the Son of God has in a certain way united himself with every man' (GS 22, § 2). We are called to become one with him; what he experienced in his flesh for us and as our model, he allows us to share in as members of his Body: We must continue and fulfill in ourselves the states and mysteries of Jesus, and pray often that he may consummate and fulfill them in us and in his whole Church (...).” For the Son of God intends to bring about a participation in, and an extension and continuation of, his mysteries in us and in his whole Church, through the graces he wishes to communicate to us and through the effects he wishes to work in us through these mysteries.
