WOODWORKING…MAKING AN OVERHEAD GARDEN TOOLS STORAGE HANGER This is an extremely easy project that requires minimal tools and about a half a sheet of very cheap 1/2 inch plywood. I was gifted a slip sheet at $0.00 cost . It was sturdy and strong so that’s what I used. Starting from the bottom of the cut pieces, I marked 4” increments for each row and then leaving clearance I marked 4 inches apart for each 2” hole. I used a hand drill to make the initial cut for each hole about 1/8 inch deep then used my drill press to complete the holes. Most slip sheets are quite ugly so I painted mine. The hanging is straight forward, just make sure you keep the holes aligned. My rafters are 16” on center so I used a 32” spacing. Placement was to the sidewall of the shed so I would have clearance to remove the tools as I needed them . Less used tools on top, frequently used ones on the bottom for easy reach. Total time, about 3 hours to complete so an easy weekend project.
