We explored the historic cities of Nizwa and Bahla, visiting their stunning forts, and finished our trip in the mountains at Jebel Shams, home to the famous Balcony Walk—often called the Grand Canyon of Oman and one of the best hikes we’ve ever done. Oman completely surprised us. It’s authentic, breathtakingly beautiful, incredibly safe, and perfect for a family road trip.
