Both municipalities were severely affected. Residents describe a completely unexpected and unprecedented phenomenon. "It all happened suddenly. I've been here since I was born, and I've never seen hail like this. Damaged cars, broken windows, wind, power outages. They even shattered the window above my house. Here, I see so many smashed cars. Total panic, in short. It's indescribable," explained a resident of San Benedetto del Tronto, in the province of Ascoli Piceno. "A hailstorm like this has never happened in our area. Rather than continue to deny the evidence of climate change, we need to work to understand how to organize ourselves for the future," said the mayor of Bellante, Giovanni Melchiorre.
