A tribute to Fr Simon Bishop SJ, Rest in Peace

We said goodbye to Fr Simon Bishop SJ this week, and the outpouring of love and memories since then has been incredible. Simon studied theology at Cambridge University, played cricket there, and trained as a social worker because he genuinely wanted to help people. That heart for others stayed with him throughout his life and led him to become a Jesuit priest, living his vocation with humour, gentleness, and deep compassion. Since news of his passing spread online, hundreds of people from around the world have shared how much Simon meant to them: the joy he brought, the support he offered, and the quiet wisdom he shared. Thank you, Simon, for all the ways you touched our lives. We hold your family and all who loved you in our prayers. May you rest in peace. Your kindness will stay with us.
