It is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Marseille: Les Crottes, in the 15th arrondissement. “The village” as some residents say, located in the heart of Euroméditerranée 2, the largest urban renovation project in Europe, is in the process of changing. But while waiting for the promise of a better life, the residents who support the work live in the midst of poverty, dirt, violence, insecurity. A symbol of this misery, the flea market now extends well beyond the authorized perimeter (the authorized part attracts 50,000 visitors per week according to Euromed figures, editor's note).
