Siren's Cove 💫 Skewer Swiping Acrylics on Big Canvas with a Smack Stick!

Today I am continuing to experiment with the Skewer Swipe technique that I saw my friend Fiona from Fiona Art doing. In my last video, Lapis Lazuli I used a Smack Stick from my friend Sarah Mack Art; My plan is to pour two wandering straight pours and then try using a palette knife to do the skewer swipes. I want to create fingerlings so that I can stretch them out later. Colors Golden Turquois Pthalo Van Dyke Brown DecoArt Extreme Sheen Jadeite Pearl DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics 24K Gold Pouring Medium: Mix Pour Water There is NO Silicone in Any of My Paint. I am using Mix Pour today, you can order Mix pour from Krista by emailing her at [email protected] I layer both my cups at the same time, keeping contrast in mind, I layer them light dark light dark. I use my Sarah Mack Smack Stick to do a few Skewer Swipes in the piece. I really like this technique, its a lot of fun and creates some gorgeous lines and effects. Thank you Fiona! Thank you Sarah! I love both of you ladies! I love the way the colors have blended a little in some parts, but then also I love that I can see each individual color as well. I lay down a basecoat of my drips and table scrapings. I then pour the two layered cups slowly, and stay close to the canvas so the colors dont blend too much. First I use a regular palette knife to dip under the surface of the paint and stretch out some of the designs. I switch to using my Smack Stick when I get to the smaller areas. After I'm done, I tilt it out to cover the canvas. I show you the dried results from Lapis Lazuli in this video, I will show you Sirens Cove when it is dry.
