Sidarta Ribeiro: Um otimismo apocalíptico - Outras Conversas - 006

Sidarta Ribeiro is a biologist, neuroscientist, and Full Professor at the Brain Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In 2019, he published a book on "The History and Science of Dreams," which had a great impact in Brazil. During the pandemic, he wrote and published a new book whose title aptly reveals its spirit: "Manifest Dream: Ten Urgent Exercises in Apocalyptic Optimism." Each of the 'ten exercises' is a reflection/call to action on the current world, its difficulties and possibilities for maintaining life on Planet Earth, based on our ancestral heritage, love, education—among other approaches—and, of course, capoeira, without neglecting the urgent need to reduce the monstrous social inequality between the very rich and the very poor in Brazil.
