Blowing an Engine in Memorial Day Boat Traffic|Sideways Through a Drawbridge on Our Wharram Tiki 46

Memorial Day weekend on the water turned into one of the most intense episodes we’ve had yet aboard our Wharram Tiki 46. What started as a normal travel day quickly escalated into crowded waterways, drawbridge chaos, and engine trouble as we worked our way south through heavy holiday boat traffic. Along the way, a new crew member joined us, we were welcomed by an incredible couple who opened their home to us and shared a meal with us. We spent some beautiful days exploring Peanut Island and Palm Beach before attempting to head back out to sea. But when conditions at the inlet shifted, things changed fast. As we tried to leave, we suddenly found ourselves drifting toward the wall with limited control, forcing us to make a quick decision to turn around and retreat. Sometimes the hardest call in sailing is knowing when not to go. This episode has a little bit of everything: stressful moments, beautiful moments, kindness from strangers, and another reminder that life aboard is never predictable. If you enjoy real sailing adventures, off-grid travel, and honest moments from life aboard a Wharram catamaran, subscribe and come along for the journey. #Sailing #Wharram #Catamaran #BoatLife #SailingAdventure #PeanutIsland #Liveaboard #OffGrid #FloridaSailing
