In this episode, I show everything from the very beginning: — what tools I decided to use; — why I chose these particular shovels; — why I needed a file for sharpening; — why a compact hacksaw will be indispensable when working with roots; I also begin gradually bringing various building materials I manage to find to the construction site. All of this will become part of the dugout's design in the future. Each episode of this project will begin with precisely these findings and the preparation of materials. In this episode, I detail my dugout project as I see it now. Using a diagram with dimensions, I explain: — the future layout; — the dimensions of the interior space; — the location of the entrance; — the ceiling system; — the heating system; — the future internal organization of the space. Of course, much can change, improve, and be refined during the process. But the fundamental idea is already there, and it is this that I will gradually implement. In this episode, I managed to: — completely clear the area; — precisely mark it out with a tape measure; — install stakes; — determine the actual boundaries of the future dugout; — begin the first excavation work; And most importantly: I managed to dig the first 17 centimeters. It doesn't seem like much. But it is from these first centimeters that the whole journey begins. I also defined a soil sorting system: — separate fertile soil layer; — separate mixed soil; — separate future clay. If a good clay layer develops, it will be useful for: — building a stove; — creating a fireplace; — strengthening the walls; — insulating the structure; — improving the roof. This is just the beginning of a long journey. The project has officially launched, and new episodes will be released regularly.
