Welcome to Auto China 2026 — and believe me: this is no ordinary auto show. With more than 1,400 cars, 180 premieres, and 17 gigantic halls, this literally cannot be captured in a single video. That is why: this is part 1 of four. In this episode, we take you through the first impressions — and they are immediately intense. China is no longer “up-and-coming”; they simply dominate. Everywhere you see new brands, bizarre models, and technology that Europe has yet to catch up with. What stands out? Big. Everything is big. Cars over 5 meters long, fully equipped as mobile lounges with screens, reclining chairs, and entertainment. Why? Because in China, you sometimes spend hours stuck in traffic — and then you want to sit comfortably. European brands are here too, but they are clearly playing a different game. Volkswagen is introducing China-only models and is collaborating with local partners to keep up. Electric is important, but plug-in hybrids and range extenders remain just as relevant here.
