On account of Kashi Tamil Sangamam Event, this train service is announced by the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishaw on 22 December 2022 and followed by this train has been Inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 17 December 2023. It operates as train number 16367 from Kanyakumari to Banaras and as train number 16368 in the reverse direction, serving the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. The 16367 / 16368 Kashi Tamil Sangam Express has one AC 1 tier, two AC 2 tier, Three AC 3 tier, Three AC 3 tier Economy, six Sleeper Class, four General Unreserved, one Pantry car , 1 EOG & 1 SLR coaches. It is hauled by a Royapuram Loco Shed based WAP-7 electric locomotive on its entire journey. It is a major station of Varanasi. Due to heavy rush at Varanasi Junction, it has been developed as a high facilitated station. The newly transformed station now has 8 platforms including a second entry PF, which is truly world-class. It has a spacious waiting area, circulating area, booking/reservation office, cafeteria, food court, waiting rooms and more. The station also has AC lounge, non-AC retiring rooms and dormitories. Kanniyakumari railway station, (formerly Cape Comorin railway station)(station code: CAPE) is an NSG–4 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a railway terminus of the Indian Railways serving the coastal town of Kanyakumari in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a part of the Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It's the southernmost railway station in India. The Kanyakumari rail station is located in the heart of Kanyakumari and is only 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) away from Kanyakumari beach. It is one of the 73 stations in Tamil Nadu to be named for upgradation under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme of Indian Railways. Indian Railways were planning for East Coast Railway Route starting from Chennai to Kanyakumari via Cuddalore, Karaikudi, Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin. The surveys were gone on a phase by phase manner and submitted for approvals, the Railway board currently shelved the project.
