Seagull Models 50cc Extra 330LX from Gator Rc Unboxing and Initial Thoughts

Check out their awesome balsa selection at www.Gator-rc.com My initial thoughts: I am impressed how they use every square mm of space inside this box and don’t have things get smashed. This a 50cc 82 inch airplane. After unboxing and laying out all the parts I am impressed with many things. The paint job on the cowl and pants is near perfect. The wheel pants are already prenotched and have blind nuts installed. The gear is also predrilled. The hinges are already pre Installed and The control surfaces are huge. The covering has very and I mean very few wrinkles. The fuse has knockouts for a tuned rear exit pipe. The fuse interior is clean and looks well constructed. The landing gear area uses aluminum angle to strengthen the area. The carbon landing gear and tail wheel look nice and are well built. The wings and stabs have a nice stripped pattern in the bottom to separate plane halves and that helps to easily determine orientation. The engine box has a pattern for a DLE 55 or Da50. It’s supported by triangle stock and is already sealed. The rudder is huge and uses a slide rod to secure it on the plane. The horizontal elevator halves use internal pockets to mount the servos. The arm openings are a little big but I cover those with carbon. The down sides, one horizontal elevator stab ear was broken. This is a small fix with some ca and not a big deal. The yellow stripes on the wing tops could have been better mated. Really that’s all I got. It looks like a really nice built model, includes a large amount of extra stuff that motor boxes, hardware.
