11,000 horsepower Top Fuel Funny Car start up and switch to nitro

Steve Ashdown and the Undertaker team at Santa Pod, Euro Finals 2024. I love these guys. Drag racing is so much more rock and roll than F1. The F1 pit is a closed off space populated with superstars and bland corporate types. The drag racing pit is open to all and populated with Hell's Angels and geezers in gas masks ... and 11,000 horsepower cars. What's not to like. The video simply doesn't do the volume of the car justice. The switch to nitro doesn't really sound any louder on the video. It is. The car is always loud, but when they switch the nitro on it sounds like standing right next to a Gatling Gun. My angle here was perfect. I was just to the side of the exhausts so wasn't completely blasted by eye watering fumes. I could breath and see.
