Cycling Into El Salvador | An Unexpected Reunion in Acajutla

Day 78–81 | Guatemala to El Salvador 🚴‍♂️ This stretch of the journey took me from Escuintla, Guatemala, across another international border, and into El Salvador. After several long days in the saddle, I made it to Acajutla where I had the unexpected opportunity to reconnect with an old friend who just happened to be vacationing in the area. We spent some time catching up before loading the bike up and hitching a ride to Santa Ana for a day off the road. The following day it was back to pedaling as I made my way down to San Salvador. After thousands of miles since leaving San Francisco, my bike was overdue for some attention, so I dropped it off for a much-needed tune-up and maintenance before continuing south. This journey isn’t just about reaching Ushuaia—it’s about raising awareness for Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia while sharing the people, places, and experiences encountered along the way. If you’ve been affected by Parkinson’s or Lewy Body Dementia, or know someone who has, please consider sharing this journey. Every share helps spread awareness and reach more people. 📍 Route: Escuintla, Guatemala → Acajutla → Santa Ana → San Salvador, El Salvador #Bikepacking #CyclingAdventure #ElSalvador #Guatemala #SanFranciscoToUshuaia #ParkinsonsAwareness #LewyBodyDementia #AdventureCycling #BicycleTouring #MilesWithoutMasters
