Rinvoq For Arthritis: Mechanism of Action | Side Effects | Dosing | Monitoring + 1 Vaccine Warning

Rinvoq is a new medication on the market used to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). It's a Janus Kinase Inhibitor (JAK). While it's new there are other medications in the same class that have been out on the market for a while (i.e., Xeljanz). The bottom line is that JAK's lower inflammation by blocking cytokine signalling. As far as side effects go Rinvoq is pretty well tolerated. The side effect seen most often is Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URI's) at around 14% of people. You will need to have a Tuberculosis and Hepatitis test done prior to starting Rinvoq. Rinvoq dosing is very convenient with one pill (15mg) taken daily. I cover other points in the video.
