Velocidad en los Lados del caballo

How to increase our horse's speed when turning sideways? This is a question I'm asked very frequently. My answer is: before asking for speed, our horse must have fluidity, smoothness, good posture, immediacy, and good coordination. The horse must be executing its sideways movements well and have some muscle memory. Only then should we ask for speed. Now, how do we do it? How do we ask for speed? My answer is: the same way we ask for increased speed while walking, the same way we ask for increased speed in any other exercise. The voice, the sound, our intention sometimes works because it's clear to the horse. A touch with our leg is also important, and most importantly, we must reward even the slightest positive response from our horse. Be generous with our reward. Use your voice as a reward, along with rest and physical affection.
