John McDermott Celtic singer/song writer chatting with Reginald Argue

John McDermott, a singer, songwriter, and producer, is chatting with Reginald Argue. John grew up in a musical family, listening and singing along to many different Celtic songs and tales he regularly shares with his audience during his performances. Throughout John's illustrious singing career, he has been nominated for countless Juno awards, his concerts regularly sell out, and he has done tremendous work to assist with Veteran issues. John's late father served in the Royal Air Force in WWII. John's late Uncle died in the Changi Japanese prisoner of War camp. Also, John had two cousins killed in Vietnam, and another took his life after he returned to the US. In 2000, McDermott dedicated McDermott House in Washington, DC, a transitional home for homeless veterans. John also received the US Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Bob Hope Award in September 2001 because of his support for Veteran issues. In 2010, John received a Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation for his work on behalf of Veterans. John is also an honorary member of The War Amps. John released Journeys: Bringing Buddy Home recorded to help support fundraising for Fisher House Boston (VA Boston Healthcare System Fisher House) and launch the Canadian initiative for an outreach center for Canadian veterans.
