THE VISIONARIES: Es Devlin, set designer
Es (or Esmerelda) Devlin is one of the most successful and memorable set designers of the century. I have been obsessed with her work for many years. She has created sets for numerous theatre and opera productions and, more recently, some of the biggest music tours in the world. In addition, Es designed the Olympics Closing Ceremony in London in 2012. She is courted by fashion brands and pretty much every other brand too but my favourite work of hers is her theatre work - specifically on 'Chimerica', 'The Nether' and 'Hamlet'. These are sets that will stay in my mind forever. Shot on iPhone Filmed at the Royal Court Theatre in London. With thanks to all the team - especially the ticket desk for ordering customers to whisper while we filmed Es in the bar upstairs. THE VISIONARIES ft.
