Emigrating to Malaysia or staying in Germany? In this video, I compare life in Penang with the current situation in Germany. As a digital nomad, I'll show you Georgetown, the Hin Bus Depot, and my condo, but I'll also take a critical look at the infrastructure and social cohesion. This time, my visa run takes me to Penang in Malaysia. I mainly wanted to show you the island: Georgetown, the Hin Bus Depot, my condo, Gurney Walk, and the atmosphere of this fascinating city. However, the longer I was there, the more I thought about Germany. Because much of what I see in Penang—cleanliness, infrastructure, public spaces, the coexistence of different cultures—seems to work surprisingly well. At least significantly better than one would expect from a country that many Germans probably don't even consider.
