This time, we strolled through the city's main shopping street, " Dai-machi/Nanoka-machi Shopping Street". Furukawa, Osaki City is located in the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture. From the olden days, Furukawa, Osaki City had a government office and developed along the Oshu-Kaido Road. In the Taisho era (1912-1926), with the opening of the "Furukawa-za" and the railroad, the commercial area from Oshu Kaido to Furukawa Station expanded. Today, along National Route 4 (the old bypass), large stores line the streets, and like other areas, the city's commercial area is struggling. However, there are major developments underway, including the development of a bypass accessing the east side of the station from National Route 4 and the area near the city hall. We hope that these will be put to good use to revitalize the city. Currently, I am a little concerned because I do not see a clear route leading into the city....
