2026-06-27 Mittsommerflug am Brauneck

https://hdgv.de/mitfliegen The summer solstice bonfire was planned for that day at Brauneck: "Due to the high risk of forest fires, this year's bonfire will be a 'different kind'. We will illuminate our solstice bonfire with spark-proof LEDs and are also looking forward to an impressive fire artist show with live music. The cable car will run continuously until midnight that day, and the ticket office in the valley will be open until 10:00 p.m." This opportunity for a later ascent (the last cable car normally leaves at 5:00 p.m.) was naturally taken advantage of, and the sunset was watched from the gondola, making the most of the civil twilight. So, this turned out to be the latest flight I'll probably ever take... (unless I do some midsummer flying in Scandinavia). I just barely saw enough for the landing – I'm amazed that the super-night mode produces such a "bright" image, even if it's noticeably less sharp than usual with my new Osmo Action 6. Great camera. I could have planned the approach from a bit further back, though, so I wouldn't have to land just a few centimeters over the edge of the ditch ;-) https://de.dhv-xc.de/flight/2260872
