Exodus 33 Contradiction? Moses saw God "face to face" But "no one can see God's face and live?"

In Exodus chapter 33 we see what may seem to be two contradictory statements in the Bible: Ex 33.11, " The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend." Ex 33.30, "But,” He (the Lord) said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” So which is it? Did Moses really see God's face and live OR did he not actually see his face? This video talks about both of these passages and Anthropomorphism, “attributing human characteristics to nonhumans.” This is an excerpt from a full Bible study looking at Exodus 33.
