Both pieces ('The Ceremony' and 'Waxing Elisabeth') in their film versions always felt to me like a great joke where somebody screwed up the punchline. To bring back the punch of this choral highlight of 80s adventure fantasies - with Carl Orff gently turning two blind eyes in heaven - I combined both tracks and got rid of one redundant turn of the whole build up - and voilà: the game is finally afoot 😉. As always I give the biggest of shoutouts to all the wonderful film music labels, in this case to good old INTRADA, who first published, and then re-published this almost forgotten gem of film music's second Golden Age for us to enjoy and for me to make a little suite from arguably it's two most famous tracks.
