Flowering has begun, and believe me, it wasn't easy. After days of non-stop rain that severely tested our plants right at the start of flowering, the good weather has finally returned. We're taking advantage of it to improve the Mimosa greenhouse: insect netting, and especially a new, denser black and white blackout cover to reflect heat and keep the greenhouse cooler. And meanwhile, flowering is progressing—the first buds are forming, and frankly, it feels great. But the highlight of the episode is our greenhouse/hangar: 250 m², two and a half times bigger than the Mimosa. The challenge of the day? Covering it entirely with its large light deprivation tarp. Spoiler alert: it was quite something 😅 A quick reminder for those just joining us: we started using light deprivation this year because we ran out of our flowers. Indoor growing allowed us to bridge the gap (these indoor flowers are available on the website, in limited quantities), but light deprivation is our real solution for anticipating the next harvest and having stock for you. Light deprivation is the technique that allows us to control the flowering cycle of hemp in the greenhouse, by manipulating light rather than the weather. You'll follow this grow week by week, from planting to harvest, with all the technical choices, the challenges, and the lessons learned.
