DANZIG Press Conference on Robbs MetalWorks 1999

Here is a nice little gem I finally decided to pull out of the RMW archive. In my ear it was screaming to be let out, taking into consideration this video is 15 years old AND coupled with the fact that Glenn Danzig is one of my favorite artists of all time. As far as I can recall, San Antonio has only been host to one OFFICIAL, national metal festival & it occurred on November 5th & 6th, 1999 at the Live Oak Civic Center and was appropriately tagged, 'The November to Dismember'. How many of you all were there? As a Jack Koshick event, it was well organized, represented & attended. Bands that played included, FLOSTSAM & JETSAM, PISSING RAZORS, S.O.D., RIOT, SKINLAB, ANAL BLAST, CROWBAR & MOONSPELL to name just a few. One of the exciting items on the agenda for press people were 'press conferences' that were scheduled, which most of the big name bands participated in. However, as a major headliner, DANZIG had their OWN press conference & as you might have guessed it came along with blunt truths, lots of laughs, ooo's & ahhh's,.....& that original Glenn Danzig flare. Topics that were discussed included: • The upcoming Samhain box set (Steve Zing is part of the PC) • Samhain one-off shows • Members of his current line-up (for the 'I Luciferi-777' release) • Verotika (his comic book company) • Which national bands did NOT want to tour with him cause of the black metal element • His relationship with Jerry Only & the Misfits • & much more,....
