In an interview with Giro do Boi this Wednesday (8), Canal Rural meteorologist Arthur Müller gave more details about the official climate outlook under the influence of the El Niño phenomenon, which is already in full swing and coupled to the global atmosphere. According to Müller, the phenomenon has changed the climate scenario and triggered a severe alert for Central Brazil, projecting extreme heat waves of up to 44°C and delays in the establishment of rains for the harvest. Also according to the meteorologist, the warming of the Equatorial Pacific has already lasted more than 60 days and the ocean-atmosphere coupling is consolidated, which will extend the effects of the phenomenon throughout the spring, advancing until the beginning of 2027.
