Wickeljäckchen stricken
Today I'll show you how to knit this delicate, hand-knitted baby cardigan. With its wrap closure, it's very practical – perfect for tiny newborns or as a lovely gift for a new baby. Have fun knitting it, and thank you for joining me again! 💕 More baby cardigan and sweater tutorials can be found in my playlist: • Baby-Jäckchen- und Pullover This cardigan was knitted with Superba cashmeri luxury socks 4-ply yarn (100g = 400m) and 2.5mm needles. Gauge: 1cm = 2.8 stitches Size 50/56: • Cast on 70 stitches. • At a height of approximately 16cm, begin the increases for the sleeves. Sleeve Increases: • Increase one stitch under each armpit (4 times) in every other row, as shown in the video. • Then cast on 39 stitches on each side for the sleeves. • Continue knitting until the piece measures 7-8 cm (the 4 stitches increased under the armpit are included in this measurement). • You will then have a total of 156 stitches. Neckline • For the neckline, bind off 34 stitches in the center. • You will then have 61 stitches on each side. Starting the Sleeves • Begin with one sleeve and one front piece (the second half of both sleeves is knitted in the same way as the first half). • While you are knitting the sleeve, you will also be knitting part of the front piece. • The front piece must be worked diagonally. Increase one stitch in every other row (see video). • Continue knitting in this manner until you need to decrease the 4 stitches under the armpit. • Cast off 39 stitches. • Decrease the 4 stitches under the armhole in every other row, offsetting the decreases. • On the front, increase one stitch continuously in every other row. • Knit until you have a total of 70 stitches. • Then knit these 70 stitches to the end. • Work one section first, then the other – as shown in the video. Measurements • Sleeve length (measured from the center of the neckline): approx. 22–23 cm • Sleeve width: 7–8 cm per side (that means knitting approx. 14–18 cm in one piece, as shown in the video) • Total length of the sweater (measured from the shoulder): approx. 22–24 cm • Chest circumference: approx. 23–25 cm × 2 Size 62/68: As shown in the video. Size 74/80: • Cast on 82 stitches. • At a height of approximately 19 cm, I begin the increases for the sleeves. You will then have a total of 196 stitches. Neckline • For the neckline, bind off 40 stitches in the center. • This leaves 78 stitches on each side.
