Warrumbungle - International Dark Sky Park
Warrumbungle National Park is Australia's only Dark Sky Park. Its iconic mountain range originated from an extinct shield volcano and it's the perfect destination for bushwalking, climbing and stargazing. It hosts Australia's largest optical telescope at Siding Spring Observatory, part of the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics (RSAA) at the Australian National University (ANU). I spend few nights in the area (and one night at the Observatory) to try and capture the essence of this beautiful area. Special thanks to NSW National Parks and Siding Spring Observatory.
