The 2025 academic year marks a significant milestone for Medan State University (Unimed). Amidst the enthusiasm of thousands of prospective students, the university is once again offering opportunities for the nation's best young people to join through the Independent Selection Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK). A total of 3,393 seats are available across 58 study programs. However, the number of applicants far exceeds the available quota. A total of 8,219 people registered to compete for a spot at this leading state university. Unimed Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Baharuddin, ST, M.Pd., who personally observed the exam from July 22-23, 2025, stated that the selection process was orderly, safe, and conducive.
