WIZZO to BUCKFASTLEIGH! D1015 'Western Champion' + 37240 on Vintage Trains SOUTH DEVON EXPLORER!

A trip to Devon today, with the added bonus of D1015 ‘Western Champion’ and 37240 working Vintage Trains South Devon Explorer! Having seen D1015 working at the Severn Valley in the week    • 71000 STAYS PUT, while D1015 runs services...   gearing up for this weekends run over the Devon Banks, today saw the railtour get underway from Birmingham, and we firstly see the Western unassisted working the 1Z77 Birmingham New Street - Plymouth, passing Dawlish, with 37240 in hot pursuit, working light engine to assist with the next leg from Plymouth onto the South Devon Railway. Later we head to the South Devon, where GWR 1369 was hauling todays services, back after its visit to the Bristol Harbourside Railway    • GREAT WESTERN PANNIER 1369's LAST WORKINGS...   We see the tank engine leave and then the railtour as it firstly traverses the mainline crossover onto South Devon metals at Totnes Riverside, before getting ahead and seeing it arrive at Buckfastleigh, the first time a Class 52 Western has been seen on the South Devon Railway branch line since D1023 ‘Western Fusilier’ was at Buckfastleigh in 1990! After a short stop at Buckfastleigh, passengers board and we see the 37 head the railtour back up the SDR to the mainline, with a final shot of the train speeding past Huntworth to set down back to Birmingham.
