Is this really the Caribbean on this Round the World trip? We sailed 195km by catamaran against the wind and failed to anchor 9 times trying to find a hidden portal in Martinique. This was the most exciting dive of our nomadic life on that adventure. In this episode, we take you to the B-side of life on board. Not everything is calm waters and drinks on deck. We faced a 20-hour crossing, dealt with accumulated maintenance, tackled a long trail, and tested our patience (and our anchor!) to the limit. Diving in a submerged cave is scary, but what we found inside was something no photo or travel guide could describe. Among untouched corals and a "golden snow" of leaves, we understood the true meaning of persistence. - - - - - - - We are Gabi and John, a nomadic couple living aboard the sailboat Faceiro and sailing around the world by sea. John suffered a heart attack at 36 and realized he couldn't postpone life any longer. That's when he decided to change everything: he bought a boat and started sailing up the Brazilian coast. Along the way, he met Gabi, a doctor, already exhausted from the hustle and bustle of life on land. Together, we lived for 4 years on a motorboat and, since 2025, we've been sailing aboard a sailboat, ready to navigate even further.
