This type of gas doesn't produce as much heat as propane and is generally used in much colder environments such in as cooking and things like that. The type of gas that is ideal for gas outdoor patio heaters and fire pits is propane gas. This comes in either a green or red bottle. It process a very strong flame and generates a lot of heat.
