The South Jakarta District Court (PN) has scheduled the first hearing of KMRT Roy Suryo Notodiprojo's pretrial motion to challenge his suspect status by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) for today, Friday (July 10). "At 9 a.m., yes," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer Halida Rahardhini when confirmed via text message on Thursday evening (July 9). Roy Suryo filed this petition on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and it is registered under case number 108/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL. The first defendant is the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief, cq. Director of Criminal Investigation, cq. Head of the State Security Sub-Directorate, cq. Investigation Team. The second defendant is the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, cq. Assistant for General Crimes, cq. Head of the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, cq. Head of the South Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office, cq. Head of the Public Prosecutor's Team. Roy Suryo recently won a pretrial motion against him regarding the search, arrest, and detention conducted by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The sole judge at the South Jakarta District Court, I Ketut Darpawan, declared the coercive measures to be formally flawed and therefore must be declared invalid. "The judgment: first, grant the Petitioner's request in part," the judge stated while reading the verdict on Tuesday (July 7). Regarding the detention, the judge found that the actions taken by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police did not meet the subjective requirements and should therefore be declared invalid. However, the judge emphasized that even though the search, arrest, and detention were formally problematic, this did not automatically render the entire investigation file invalid.
