Solve Problems on Control charts for variables by using- 1. Control charts for sample means ( x bar chart) 2. Control charts for sample ranges ( R chart) A quality inspector took 5 samples each with four observations (n=4) of the length of time for glue to dry. The analyst computed the mean of each sample and then computed grand mean. All values are in minutes. Use this information to obtain 3 sigma control limits for mean of future times . It is known from previous experience that the standard deviation of the process is 0.02 minute. A company manufactures screws to a nominal diameter 0.500+- 0.030 cm. Five samples were taken randomly from the manufactured lot and 3 measurements were taken on each sample at different lengths. The readings are shown in table.
