One Life to Live 1/19/1990

Andy ignores Tyler and he wonders what he did wrong. Carlo Hesser stops by the bar and says he needs to speak to Andy. She is concerned that Carlo is about to turn against her, but the opposite is true: he’s offering to send one of his men to take care of the bar so Andy can focus on the business side of things. Carlo asks if Renee will stay for lunch, but she declines, saying she promised Viki she’d attend the community meeting, so Carlo offers to escort her to the event. Clint tells Viki he stands behind her and her crusade against the drug dealers. Clint is worried, however, that the community meeting is perhaps a little too confrontational and dangerous. Brenda packs for a romantic vacation with Larry, and Michael drops by to say goodbye to Steven. After leaving Brenda’s house, Michael calls someone and asks them to sabotage Larry’s vacation plans. At the community meeting, Asa immediately butts heads with Carlo and tells him his friendship with Renee is over as of this moment. Renee tells him Carlo has been a great help, but Carlo says it’s time for him to head back to Chicago anyways. He tells Renee to call him if she needs his help again. Roger comes to the meeting and offers encouraging words, in contrast to Clint and Asa’s beliefs that Viki should leave this issue to the mayor and the city council. At the airport Larry argues with the desk agent who says she can’t find his reservation and also that every seat is booked. Michael arrives, playing the knight in shining armor. He says he’s headed to see a resort in the Caribbean he was thinking of buying and has extra room on his private jet. Michael offers to drop the three of them in Aruba and then he can continue on his business trip. Tyler tells Andy he wants to start a monthly travel newsletter and he wants to hire her as his editor. During Viki’s speech at the community meeting, a suspicious looking gentleman stands quietly in the back. Back at home, Viki gets a phone call telling her there’s a follow-up meeting at the school and she says she’ll be right over. At Max’s Place, Tyler overhears the suspicious man from the community meeting making a phone call and he tells Andy he is worried Viki is in some sort of danger. At the schoolyard, on the way to her meeting, Viki is accosted by two tough guys who threaten her and tell her she is interfering in their business.
