What Fees Can the Car Dealer Charge On a Return or Default?

What Fees Can the Car Dealer Charge When a Car is Returned? When a customer brings a car back after not making a first payment, or after a default or cancelation, and in other situations, lenders and car dealers can only charge fees allowed by contract and law. In this case, a dealer tried to force a customer to pay fees based on a "contract" the dealer had listed on his wall listing "loan cancelation" fees. However, the customer and dealer had signed a contract containing an "integration clause", meaning the contract contained all of the agreements between him and the dealer. In other words, the sign on the wall was not binding on the customer. Dealers are not allowed to charge fees simply because they hang a sign on the wall, but they will try. Know your rights and know how to fight back against illegal car dealer fees. #cars #contract #lawyer SUBSCRIBE ON YOUTUBE    / whitneyllp   By: Daniel W. Whitney, Jr., Esq. Why I became a lawyer that sues car dealerships and why I post videos about car dealer fraud cases and dealer scams: Before becoming a lawyer I sold cars while I was in college. It was while selling cars in Maryland that I learned of the ruthless nature of car dealerships, and learned there is only one rule that matters at most dealerships: GET AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FROM THE CUSTOMER, TODAY, AND NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. It was wrong then and it is wrong now. Today, I've sued those same dealers and others to help cheated consumers fight back. Consumers must know they have more legal rights than they realize, and can take action against dishonest dealers. #carbuying #newcars #usedcars Common car dealer problems and scams I help car buyers with include: 1.
