The Flap Operation Check is carried out to verify the correct functioning of the aircraft flap system. During the check, the flaps are operated through their full range of travel using the cockpit flap control lever while observing smooth movement, correct positioning and synchronization of all flap surfaces. The indication system is checked to ensure that the flap position shown in the cockpit corresponds accurately to the actual flap position. Any abnormal noise, excessive vibration, hydraulic leakage, binding, or asymmetrical movement is investigated and rectified before further operation. The check confirms that the flap system operates safely and effectively, providing the required lift and drag characteristics during take-off, approach and landing phases of flight.
