A day in the life of the DSWT's Ithumba orphans | Sheldrick Trust

The DSWT raises orphaned elephants and re-introduces them back into the wild. This is one of the only projects of its kind in the world. The orphans remain under the Trusts's care until they are ready to go back into wild herds, but this process is gradual and they need to be exposed to a wild situation in order for this to happen. The clip shows a typical day in the life of the Trusts's younger and dependent orphans who are in the process of re-introduction. Featuring some older ex-orphans as well as Benjamin Kyalo, the head keeper at Ithumba Unit.
