Walther / HK G36 Tactical Rimfire 22lr - NEW - Review

Did you see the Walther H&K G36 in 22lr introduced at Shot Show 2015? Well, we got one! We take a look at the Heckler & Koch G36 in 22 long rifle on our range. It's so new, we couldn't even find it listed on the manufacturers website! This is our first brief review. With the folding stock, easy take down, smoothing running and ease of use this is bound to be a popular plinking and training rifle for those that love the G36 format. The rifle feels solid and not too toyish. It does have a lot of plastic and is much lighter than it appears but reasonably so. It runs well with only a few malfunctions on our range that we suspect was from running it too dry. We have added this rifle to our collection so it's ours and you'll be seeing more of it and have a chance to see how it does. The SFF Dad feels its a good rifle, but still prefers the S&W M&P 15-22. He thinks it's fun to shoot and this one has run well for us. He's not fond of the lighter weight and does wish it had just a little more mass, but overall it's a good rifle. Rob loves this rifle and prefers it over the M&P 15-22. He likes the folding stock and the light weight. He is not fond of the position of one of the takedown pins but has discovered they can be turned so it doesn't simulate a mag release on an AR. Sam likes the rifle and how light it is. She finds it easy to shoot, easy to hit the target and fun to use. She is not fond of the folding stock and can take or leave it.
