A gene is a basic unit of heredity. In addition to genes, we also define chromosomes as being either non-sex (or autosomal) or sex (allosomes). Within our chromosome, we have the gene locus, the location on the chromosome where a gene is situated. We are accustomed to treating the alleles of our genes as dominant alleles (capital letter, usually represented) and recessive alleles (lowercase letter, usually represented). #ProfGui #Module2 #Lesson1
