The owner was dealing with severe limp mode, low fuel pressure fault codes, and a noticeable drop in performance. Before reaching us, the car had already undergone a full "parts cannon" spree—having a high-pressure fuel rail, fuel pressure sensor, in-tank pump, and camshaft position sensors replaced. Yet, the underlying fault remained completely unfixed. When we hooked up the Thinkcar 399 scan tool, initial fault data pointed directly toward fuel rail pressure performance and camshaft sensor errors. But once we brought out the oscilloscope to verify the signals, we uncovered an unbelievable diagnostic mystery: the sensor circuit was electrically fine, but something deep inside the top end wasn't turning.
