Glacial Lake Research: The Suicide Basin Outburst Flood
Suicide Basin is a side basin of the Mendenhall Glacier above Juneau, Alaska. Since 2011, Suicide Basin has released glacier lake outburst floods that cause inundation along Mendenhall Lake and Mendenhall River. The Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center at IARC works with local partners to monitor conditions in the basin and understand the dynamics of the flood. This is the second video in a series about this work (watch the first at • Hidden Water: The Suicide Basin Outburst F... ). For the latest information on conditions in the basin, visit https://www.weather.gov/ajk/suicideBasin To learn more about the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center visit https://casc.alaska.edu and for more from the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center visit https://acrc.alaska.edu. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Track: Wanderlust — CRASTEL [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: • Wanderlust — CRASTEL | Free Background Mus...
