Looking for great places to kayak in Florida? Today we explore the Matanzas Inlet in St. Augustine, FL. This is a fantastic kayaking spot as it is full of wildlife, is near the Atlantic Ocean, and is simply beautiful. During this saltwater kayaking trip we launch at Helen Mellon Schmidt Park, just south of the Matanzas Inlet. This launch was on the intercostal waterway mid-way between low tide and high tide. We explore the area and show other kayakers some of the best places to visit, sandy spots to stop and relax, and a few great fishing locations. During this trip we see sea turtles, crabs, and more.
