To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Flying Scotsman's arrival to Australia in 1988, I'll be uploading videos that documented the engine's journey across the country. This VHS tape covers Flying Scotsman's epic trip to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory from Melbourne, Victoria with its record breaking long run from Parkes to Broken Hill, NSW in 1989. This video features the late Roland Kennington, Flying Scotsman's engineer from 1986 - 2004, and the late Sir William McAlpine, Flying Scotsman's second owner from 1973 - 1996.
